Cheese Rolls (Puaca)

INGREDIENTS:
generous 1/2 cup margarine 1 egg 1/2 cup unsweetened yougurt
2 tsp baking powder 3 cups flour 9 oz feta cheese
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp ground black pepper
1 egg yolk sesame or poppy seeds, for sprinkling



1 Melt the margarine and, when cooled, beat with the egg, yogurt, and baking powder. Add the flour and knead to a soft dough.
2 Mash the cheese with the parsley, paprika, and black pepper.
3 Preheat a 400 F oven. Take walnut-size pieces of the pastry and, on a floured surface, flatten them into 2-inch circles. Place the filling on one half of a circle and fold the other half over the top to make a crescent shape. Cut round the edges of the shape with a cookie cutter to smooth the edges and seal. Repeat until all the pastry is used up.
4 Brush each roll with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds. Place on a greased cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 30 minutes, until golden.
