INGREDIENTS:
1 quart whole milk 1/2 cup sugar 1 cinnamon stick
2 whole cloves 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract 3 tablespoons powdered coffee
1 cup 100-proof aguardiente de uva, brandy, or rum



1 Combine the milk, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, and vanilla in a heavy saucepan. Simmer over low heat or until the spices infuse the milk with their flavors, about 15 minutes. Bring the milk just to a boil and remove the pan from the heat.
2 Add the coffee and liquor. Strain the mixture into clean bottles. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve, up to 3 days.
