Waxy Nut COokies

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, well beaten 1 cup flour 1/2 cup chopped walnuts



1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease two cookie sheets in a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add salt. Add egg; beat well. Add flour; mix until smooth. Fold in walnuts. Drop dough by teaspoon onto prepared cookie sheets; allow 3 inches between drops. Bake 10 minutes. Let cookies cool 5 minutes. Let cookies cool 5 minutes on cookie sheet before carefully removing with a wide spatula to a cooling rack.
2 NOTE: Altitude affects this recipe resulting in a thicker, less airy cookie.
