Classic Ham Loaf

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground ham 1/2 lb ground fresh pork 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup water 2 tablespoons instant minced onion 1/4 teaspoon pepper



1 Mix ground ham and pork thoroughly with crumbs, water, onion, and pepper. Mold into flat oval loaf in 10x6x2-in dish, or flat loaf in 9-in pie plate.
2 Insert temperaute probe so tip is in center of food. Cover tightly with plastic warp, arranging loosely around probe to vent. Attach cable end at receptacle. Microwave at medium. Set temp, set 170F.
3 When oven signals, remove loaf from oven and let stand 5 minutes before serving.
4 On models not equipped with probe use minimum microwave time and check for doneness.
5 If a fast simple glaze is desired, spoon pineapple or apricot preserves over cooked ham loaf a few minutes before serving.
6 For best cooking results, do not exceed recommended weight of meat.
7 NOTE: Shape ham loaf in an oval or circle. Insert the temperature probe so the tip is in the center of the loaf. Cover tightly with plastic wrap, arranging loosely around probe to vent. Microwave to an internal temperature of 170F.
