Raisin-Chocolate Chip Meringues

INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup small chocolate chips 1/4 cup raisins 2/3 cup sugar
2 whites of large eggs 1/8 teapoon cream of tarter dash of salt



1 Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a cookie sheet.
2 Combine chocolate chips, raisins, and 2 tablespoons of the sugar. Set aside.
3 Beat the egg whites until very stiff. Beat in cream of tarter and salt. Gradually add remaining sugar, a little at a time. Fold in chocolate chip mixture.
4 Drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.
5 Place in oven and immediately turn off heat. Leave cookies in oven without opening oven door for at least 8 hours or overnight.
