Sassafras Tea

1-1/2 quarts


INGREDIENTS:
4 sassafras roots, each about 2" long 1-1/2 quarts water



1 Scrub the roots well with a stiff brush, rinse, and scrape away the bark. Place roots and bark scrapings along with the water in a large saucepan. Bring slowly to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer togehter gently for 15 minutes. Turn off heat, and let tea steep for 10 minutes. Strain and serve.
