| 12 dried wild turnips | 1 lb dried elk meat | 2 cups rice |
| 7 wild onions (dice green onion tops) | salt and pepper to taste | |
| 1 | Soak dried turnips for 1 hour, use a large kettle for the stew. Let the turnips and dried meat simmer for 2 hours. Then add the onions, green tips and rice. Add salt and pepper and season to taste. |
| 2 | Boil for 10 minutes, cover and then let the stew simmer for 5 minutes. The stew is then ready to serve. |
