Shrimp and Okra Stew

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb okra sliced 6 tomatoes, chopped 1 bay leaf, crumbled
10 peppercorns 1 tsp salt 1 cup water
1-1/2 lbs shrimp 1/2 tsp gumbo file 1 tbsp water



1 Place okra, tomatoes, bay leaf, peppercorns, salt and the 1 cup water in a large kettle and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes or until tomatoes have broken up and okra is tender. Add shrimp and gumbo file mixed with the 1 tablespoon water; simmer 10 minutes and serve.
