| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1 (3-lb) chicken | 1/4 cup flour | salt and pepper to taste |
| 1/4 cup oil | 1/2 cup diced onion | 1 clove of garlic, minced |
| 1/2 green pepper, diced | 1 tbsp sugar | 1 tsp basil |
| 1/2 tsp thyme | 2 (8-oz) cans tomato sauce | 1-1/2 cups water |
| 1-1/2 cups raw macaroni | ||
| 1 | Coat chicken with flour, salt and pepper; brown in oil. Remove from pan. Add onion and garlic; saute until soft. Add remaining ingredients except macaroni; heat to boiling. Place macaroni in greased caserole; place chicken on top. Pour sauce over all. Bake, covered, at 325 F, for about 1-1/2 hours or until chicken is tender. Uncover pan for last 20 minutes to crisp chicken, if desired. |
