Madill Chicken-Macaroni Casserole

INGREDIENTS:
1 (3-lb) chicken 1/4 cup flour salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup oil 1/2 cup diced onion 1 clove of garlic, minced
1/2 green pepper, diced 1 tbsp sugar 1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp thyme 2 (8-oz) cans tomato sauce 1-1/2 cups water
1-1/2 cups raw macaroni



1 Coat chicken with flour, salt and pepper; brown in oil. Remove from pan. Add onion and garlic; saute until soft. Add remaining ingredients except macaroni; heat to boiling. Place macaroni in greased caserole; place chicken on top. Pour sauce over all. Bake, covered, at 325 F, for about 1-1/2 hours or until chicken is tender. Uncover pan for last 20 minutes to crisp chicken, if desired.
