Norman Meatballs (Mexico) Albondigas

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground beef 1 lb ground pork 1 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk 2 eggs 1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp cumin 3 tsp salt 1/2 cup minced onion
2 tbsp oil 1/2 cup minced green pepper 2 tbsp flour
2 (8-oz) cans tomato sauce 1 cup water 1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp chili powder



1 Mix together first 7 ingredients with 2 tsp salt; form into balls. Saute onion in oil for 3 minutes over medium heat in 3-qt. saucepan; add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Add meatballs. Cover; cook over low heat for 40 minutes. Serve as appetizer with toothpicks or as main dish over noodles or rice.
