| 2 cups self-rising flour | 1/4 cup lard | 3/4 cup buttermilk |
| 1 | In mixing bowl, cut lard into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center; add buttermilk all at once. Stir quickly with fork just until dough follows a fork around the bowl. Divide dough in eights. Form each piece into a ball. Place in a greased 9-in plate. Press to flatten tops. Bake in 450 F. oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. |
