Wanette Stuffed Cabbage Leaves

INGREDIENTS:
1 head cabbage with large leaves 1 lb ground round 1/4 cup matzo meal
1/2 cup cooked rice 1 egg 1/4 tsp salt
1 small onion, diced 1 tbsp catsup 1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup brown sugar 1 small box raisins 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup water 1 can tomato sauce with mushrooms



1 Remove leaves from head of cabbage carefully; place in large pot. Cover with boiling water; simmer for 5 minutes. Drain cabbage; cool. Combine ground round, matzo meal, rice, egg, salt, portion of onion and catsup; mix well. Place large portion of meat mixture in center of each cabbage leaf. Fold in sides; roll up. Place in large saucepan with open side down. Combine remaining onion, lemon juice, sugar, raisins, cinnamon, water and tomato sauce; pour over meat. Cover; simmer for 1-1/2 hours, basting occasionally. Add other seasonings to meat mixture, to taste.
