Pawnee Rabbit

INGREDIENTS:
1 (4-lb) rabbit 2 tbsp flour 2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper 1 cup thin cream 1/4 lb bacon cut in small pieces



1 Wash rabbit thoroughly and cut into serving pieces. Mix dry ingredients all together. Mix dry ingredients in paper bag, and put in a few pieces of rabbit at a time, shaking bag until meat is covered with mixture. Brown the rabbit in the bacon fat, arrange the brown bacon pieces around the rabbit, cover and simmer slowly until meat is tender, about 1 hour. If dry, add cream a little at a time until down. Serve with boiled potatoes.
