Refried Beans

INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup shortening (bacon or ham drippings are good) 1/4 cup grated cheese 1 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooked beans that have been mashed



1 Melt shortening in a skillet.
2 Add mashed beans and salt to melted shortening and cook over medium heat until the beans are saturated with shortening-five or ten minutes. Stir frequently to prevent beans from burning.
3 Add cheese and cook a minute or two longer, to melt the cheese.
