Raisin Bread

INGREDIENTS:
2 packets yeast dissolved in 3/4 cup warm water add 2 teaspoons sugar called for in recipe 2 cups milk (1 can milk diluted with 1 can water) 1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs
about 5-1/2 cups flour



1 Sprinkle yeast and 2 teaspoons sugar over warm water and set aside. Scald milk, add butter, salt, and sugar. Stir in yeast when cooled, beaten eggs, add 2 cups flour and raisins, beat well. Stir in enough flour for soft dough. Knead 5 minutes, let raise 1-1/2 times bulk. Punch down, set 10 minutes. Shape in loaves. Let raise and bake 375 for 45 minutes. Glaze with powdered milk icing with vanilla.
