Shaker Cream Nut Cakes (Hancock Shaker Village)

INGREDIENTS:
2 eggs cream 1 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups cake flour 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped butternuts or walnuts



1 Break 2 eggs in a 1 cup measuring cup, and add enough cream fo fill the cup. Beat with beater. Add 1 cup sugar. Combine all dry ingredients and add to the egg-cream-sugar mixture. Add 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Put in 8 inch square pan. Bake in moderate 350 F oven for 45 minutes.
