INGREDIENTS:
3-1/2 cups water 1-1/4 cups blue cornmeal 1 teaspoon salt (omit for fasting)



1 Bring water to a boil.
2 Mix cornmeal and salt together.
3 Pour boiling water over the cornmeal and mix well.
4 Return gruel to stove and heat slowly-stirring constantly.
5 Cook slowly, continuing to stir, for about five minutes, or until smooth and thick.
