Cherry Muffins (Shirley Shaker Village)

12 medium-sized muffins


INGREDIENTS:
2 cups sifted flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 6 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt 1 egg, well beaten 1 cup milk
3 tablespoons melted butter 3/4 cup drained chopped cherries



1 Sift flour into mixing bowl with baking powder, sugar, and salt. Combine egg, milk, and butter. Add to dry ingredients. Add cherries, stirring only until blended. Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake at 425 F. for 20 to 30 minutes.
