Liver Baked with Onions and Herbs

INGREDIENTS:
1 large onion, sliced 2 tablespoons melted butter 1/4 cups hot water
6 slices liver (calf, veal, or beef), cut 1/2 inch thick 2 tablespoons flour, seasone with salt and pepper 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
2 teaspoons thyme 2 tablespoons thick chili sauce 1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter



1 Place onion in oven pan, pour over it butter and water. Cover and bake in moderate 350 F. oven 30 minutes. Dredge liver in flour; arrange over onions, sprinkle with parsley and thyme and dot with chili sauce, sugar, and butter. Bake covered for 30 minutes at 350 F. and uncovered until liver is browned.
