Cut in the shortening in the mixed flour. Add other ingredients and knead until a medium stiff dough is achieved. |

Pinch off enough dough to make a ball 3" in diameter. Roll out with a rolling pin to a round tortilla about 1/8" thick. |

Cook on a dry, hot iron skillet or griddle. Cook until slightly brown (about 3 minutes), then turn over and cook the other side. |

To keep the tortillas warm and moist, place a tea towel in a large bowl and place a tortilla in fold after fold. |
