Almond Milk

INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup lightly roasted almonds, finley ground in a coffee grinder 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar or superfine sugar 1 cup water
4 cups milk 1 tablespoon grated orange zest



1 In a bowl, combine the almonds and the sugar and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of the water and let soak for 30 minutes.
2 Put in a blender and blend on low speed as you drizzle in the remaining water. Blend well and let stand for 30 minutes.
3 Slightly warm the milk and stir in the orange zest. Pour the almond mixture into the milk and pass through a fine mesh sieve. stir well and serve immediately, or chill it and serve as a refreshing drink.
