| 6 tablespoons butter, softened | 1/3 cup sugar | 3/4 cup all-purpose flour |
| 1/4 cup ground almonds | vanilla sugar (confectioners' sugar in which a vanilla bean has been kept) | |
| 1 | In mixer bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour and nuts; beat at low speed until blended. Wrap dough and refrigerate 1 hour. |
| 2 | Preheat oven to 375 F. Roll dough by teaspoonfuls into 2-inch ropes with tapered ends. On ungreased cookie sheets, bend into crescents. Bake 10 minutes; roll in vanilla sugar. Cool on wire racks. |
