| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli | 6 slices rye or whole wheat bread | 4 slices American cheese |
| 1 (2-ounce) jar pimento, drained and chopped | 4 slices Swiss cheese | 4 eggs, beaten |
| 2 cups milk | 1 tablespoon chopped onion | 1 teaspoon salt |
| dash of pepper | 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard | 2 tablespoons melted butter |
| 1 | Cook broccoli in small amount of water 3 minutes; drain. Toast 4 slices bread and arrange in 9-inch square baking pan. Add layers of American cheese, broccoli, pimento and Swiss cheese. Mix eggs, milk, onion, salt, pepper and mustard together; pour over layered ingredients. Chill, covered, at least 1 hour. Place 2 slices bread in blender and blend to crumbs. Combine crumbs and butter. Sprinkle on chilled casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 60 to 65 minutes; let stand 10 minutes. |
