Broccoli Strata

INGREDIENTS:
1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli 6 slices rye or whole wheat bread 4 slices American cheese
1 (2-ounce) jar pimento, drained and chopped 4 slices Swiss cheese 4 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk 1 tablespoon chopped onion 1 teaspoon salt
dash of pepper 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard 2 tablespoons melted butter



1 Cook broccoli in small amount of water 3 minutes; drain. Toast 4 slices bread and arrange in 9-inch square baking pan. Add layers of American cheese, broccoli, pimento and Swiss cheese. Mix eggs, milk, onion, salt, pepper and mustard together; pour over layered ingredients. Chill, covered, at least 1 hour. Place 2 slices bread in blender and blend to crumbs. Combine crumbs and butter. Sprinkle on chilled casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 60 to 65 minutes; let stand 10 minutes.
