| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1 cup blue corn flour | 2 teaspoons baking powder | 1 teaspoon salt |
| 1 teaspoon bacon drippings, lard, or other shortening | 1/3 to 1/2 cup milk | |
| 1 | Mix (or sift) dry ingredients thoroughly in a mixing bowl. |
| 2 | Cut in shortening and add enough milk to make a drop batter. |
| 3 | Drop by spoonfuls on top of stew. |
| 4 | Cover kettle and steam dumplings for fifteen minutes. Stew should be kept bubbling. |
