Blue Corn Dumplings

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup blue corn flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon bacon drippings, lard, or other shortening 1/3 to 1/2 cup milk



1 Mix (or sift) dry ingredients thoroughly in a mixing bowl.
2 Cut in shortening and add enough milk to make a drop batter.
3 Drop by spoonfuls on top of stew.
4 Cover kettle and steam dumplings for fifteen minutes. Stew should be kept bubbling.
