Doves with Mushroom Sauce |

| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 8 to 10 doves, dressed | flour | 1/4 cup butter |
| 1 onion, sliced | 1 can mushroom gravy | 1 can (10 oz) whole mushrooms |
| 1/4 cup dry red wine (optional) | 1/2 tsp sage | salt and pepper to taste |
| 1 | Dredge the doves in flour. Melt butter in a heavy skillet and sear the doves. Add onions and saute until soft. Combine remaining ingredients; mix thoroughly. Pour over doves and add enough water to cover doves completely. Cover skillet and cook over low heat for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. |
