INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter or margarine, softened 1 cup sugar 2 egg yolks
2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup finely chopped pecans 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-/14 cups apricot preserves



1 Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add egg yolks, beating well. Fold in flour, pecans, and vanilla until mixture forms a dough.
2 Press half of dough into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Top with apricot preserves, spreading to within 1/4 inch of edges. Press remaining half of dough over preserves. Bake at 350 F. for 50 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and cut into squares.
