Sage Stuffing

INGREDIENTS:
4 cups dry bread crumbs 1/2 cup melted butter 1 egg, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon minced onion 1 tablespoon finely cut fresh sage or 1 teaspoon dried ground sage or 2 tablespoons minced fresh mixed herbs, such as combination of thyme, sweet basil, marjoram, rosemary-any one herb or several. Don't use too many, as flavors should come through separately 1 teaspoon each cloves, nutmeg, and ginger



1 Mix bread crumbs and melted butter together. Add beaten egg, seasonings, onion, and herbs. When all ingredients have been well mixed determine if a more moist dressing is desired. If so add some hot liquid-this can be stock or water.
