| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 4 cups dry bread crumbs | 1/2 cup melted butter | 1 egg, beaten |
| 1/2 teaspoon salt | 1/4 teaspoon pepper | 1 teaspoon brown sugar |
| 1 tablespoon minced onion | 1 tablespoon finely cut fresh sage or 1 teaspoon dried ground sage or 2 tablespoons minced fresh mixed herbs, such as combination of thyme, sweet basil, marjoram, rosemary-any one herb or several. Don't use too many, as flavors should come through separately | 1 teaspoon each cloves, nutmeg, and ginger |
| 1 | Mix bread crumbs and melted butter together. Add beaten egg, seasonings, onion, and herbs. When all ingredients have been well mixed determine if a more moist dressing is desired. If so add some hot liquid-this can be stock or water. |
