Buttermilk Cornbread

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup cornmeal 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt
1 rounded tsp sugar 1/8 cup buttermilk 1 egg
2-4 Tbsp bacon drippings



1 Combine cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and sugar in mixing bowl.
2 In separate bowl stir baking soda into buttermilk. Add egg. Mix well. Add to dry ingredients.
3 Pour bacon drippings into iron skillet. Heat in 450 oven.
4 Pour cornbread batter into skillet. Bake for 20 minutes.
