| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1 cup cornmeal | 2 tsp baking powder | 1/2 tsp salt |
| 1 rounded tsp sugar | 1/8 cup buttermilk | 1 egg |
| 2-4 Tbsp bacon drippings | ||
| 1 | Combine cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and sugar in mixing bowl. |
| 2 | In separate bowl stir baking soda into buttermilk. Add egg. Mix well. Add to dry ingredients. |
| 3 | Pour bacon drippings into iron skillet. Heat in 450 oven. |
| 4 | Pour cornbread batter into skillet. Bake for 20 minutes. |
