| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1 medium-sized head of cabbage | 6 slices bacon | 2 tablespoons flour |
| 3 tablespoons fat | 1 teaspoon salt | 1/4 teaspoon pepper |
| 6 medium-sized potatoes | 2 cups cabbage broth or tomato juice | |
| 1 | Shred cabbage coarsely and cook in salt water until tender. |
| 2 | Cut bacon in small pieces and fry until crisp. |
| 3 | Blend flour with 3 tablespoons of bacon drippings and brown. |
| 4 | Add seasoning and liquid or tomato juice to make a gravy. |
| 5 | Add sauce to cabbage and place in a greased baking dish. |
| 6 | Cook potatoes in salt water until soft and then mash them. |
| 7 | Put mashed potatoes on top of the cabbage. |
| 8 | Bake at 375 F. for 25 minutes. |
