Dutch Cabbage

INGREDIENTS:
1 medium-sized head of cabbage 6 slices bacon 2 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons fat 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 medium-sized potatoes 2 cups cabbage broth or tomato juice



1 Shred cabbage coarsely and cook in salt water until tender.
2 Cut bacon in small pieces and fry until crisp.
3 Blend flour with 3 tablespoons of bacon drippings and brown.
4 Add seasoning and liquid or tomato juice to make a gravy.
5 Add sauce to cabbage and place in a greased baking dish.
6 Cook potatoes in salt water until soft and then mash them.
7 Put mashed potatoes on top of the cabbage.
8 Bake at 375 F. for 25 minutes.
