| 6 to 8 yams (large can) cook until tender | 6 to 8 medium apples, sliced | SAUCE: 1 cup sugar |
| 1/2 teaspoon salt | 4 tablespoons cornstarch | 1/4 lb butter |
| 1 | Layer apples and sliced yams. End with apples on top. |
| 2 | Bring to boil 2 cups of water. Slowly pour over mixed dry ingredients. Cook until thick. Pour over apples and yams. Bake at 375 F. for 45 minutes. |
