Creamed Dried Beef

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 pound dried beef 4 tablespoons butter 4 tablespoons flour
2-1/2 cups water or milk 6 slices toast



1 Shred slices of dried beef into small pieces.
2 Melt butter in heavy pan and add dried beef.
3 Cook until the edges begin to curl and beef is slightly browned.
4 Sprinkle flour over beef and allow to brown slightly.
5 Slowly add liquid and cook over low heat, stirring constantly.
6 Cook until smooth and thickened.
7 Serve on hot toast.
