| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1/2 pound dried beef | 4 tablespoons butter | 4 tablespoons flour |
| 2-1/2 cups water or milk | 6 slices toast | |
| 1 | Shred slices of dried beef into small pieces. |
| 2 | Melt butter in heavy pan and add dried beef. |
| 3 | Cook until the edges begin to curl and beef is slightly browned. |
| 4 | Sprinkle flour over beef and allow to brown slightly. |
| 5 | Slowly add liquid and cook over low heat, stirring constantly. |
| 6 | Cook until smooth and thickened. |
| 7 | Serve on hot toast. |
