| 1 lb (450g) potato, boiled | 1 lb (450g) turnips, boiled | 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives |
| salt and freshly ground black pepper | 2 oz (50g) butter or margarine | |
| 1 | Boil the potatoes and turnips separately and let them dry in a colander over the stove. Then mash them together with the butter or margarine ensuring an even mix, stir in the chopped chives, season to taste, put into a hot dish and serve very hot. This is traditional served with Haggis. |
