| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 6 heads of garlic | olive oil | coarse salt, optional |
| fresh thyme, optional | freshly ground pepper | sourdough baguette, sliced |
| 1 | Cut each head of garlic half way down from top to expose tops of each clove. Place cloves in a pan where they can fit together quite tightly. Drizzle each bulb liberally with olive oil. If desired, sprinkle a little salt directly onto cloves, but not onto oil between them. Sprinkle fresh pepper and fresh thyme directly onto garlic, if desired. |
| 2 | Cover pan with foil. Bake for 1 hour or more, or until just tender. Remove from oven and spread the soft, roasted garlic on the sourdough baguette and serve. |
