| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 4 large onions | salted water or beef stock, to cover | 3 tbls butter |
| 1 | Remove outer skin of onions. Cook in salted water or beef stock about 40 minutes. Pour on melted butter to serve. |
| 2 | VARIATION: Cook 4 large onions 20 minutes. Halve, hollow out and stuff with chopped meat. Place in greased baking dish. Add 1 cup beef stock. Sprinkle with grated cheese, dot with butter and bake in 400 F. oven until well browned, 20 to 25 minutes. The insides of onions may be sliced and fried for a subsequent meal. |
