Scalloped Sweet Potatoes and Apples

INGREDIENTS:
4 medium-sized sweet potatoes 3 large tart apples 1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey



1 Cook the sweet potatoes and cut in slices 1/2 inch thick.
2 Slice apples in rings 1/2 inch thick. Do not pare.
3 Saute apple rings in 2 tablespoons butter until light brown.
4 Arrange alternate layers of sweet potatoes and apples in a greased casserole.
5 Make a syrup of the remaining butter and maple syrup.
6 Pour over the ingredients and bake at 375 for 40 minutes.
