Scalloped Sweet Potatoes and Apples |

| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 4 medium-sized sweet potatoes | 3 large tart apples | 1 teaspoon salt |
| 1/4 cup butter | 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey | |
| 1 | Cook the sweet potatoes and cut in slices 1/2 inch thick. |
| 2 | Slice apples in rings 1/2 inch thick. Do not pare. |
| 3 | Saute apple rings in 2 tablespoons butter until light brown. |
| 4 | Arrange alternate layers of sweet potatoes and apples in a greased casserole. |
| 5 | Make a syrup of the remaining butter and maple syrup. |
| 6 | Pour over the ingredients and bake at 375 for 40 minutes. |
