| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1 soup bone or 1/2 pound hamburger | 3/4 cup dried navy beans | 1 onion |
| 1 cup macaroni or noodles | 3 medium-sized carrots, diced | 1 quart tomatoes |
| 1/2 cup diced celery | 1-1/2 cups shredded cabbage | salt and pepper |
| 1 | Soak the beans overnight and drain. |
| 2 | Cook the soup bone in enough water to cover. |
| 3 | When tender, remove meat from broth and add beans. |
| 4 | When beans are almost soft, add diced vegetables and continue to cook for 20 minutes. |
| 5 | Season. |
| 6 | If hamburger is used, brown it in fat, add desired amount of water before adding vegetables. |
