Vegetable Soup with Meat

INGREDIENTS:
1 soup bone or 1/2 pound hamburger 3/4 cup dried navy beans 1 onion
1 cup macaroni or noodles 3 medium-sized carrots, diced 1 quart tomatoes
1/2 cup diced celery 1-1/2 cups shredded cabbage salt and pepper



1 Soak the beans overnight and drain.
2 Cook the soup bone in enough water to cover.
3 When tender, remove meat from broth and add beans.
4 When beans are almost soft, add diced vegetables and continue to cook for 20 minutes.
5 Season.
6 If hamburger is used, brown it in fat, add desired amount of water before adding vegetables.
