Oatmeal Bread

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups boiling water 2 cups rolled oats 1 tablespoon softened butter
1/2 cup molasses 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cake yeast
1/2 cup lukewarm water 5 cups sifted white flour (approximately)



1 Add boiling water to rolled oats and let stand 1 hour. Then add butter, molasses, and salt. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and add to the rolled oats mixture with enough flour to make a stiff dough. Turn out on floured board. Knead 4 to 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, bursh with melted butter. Cover and let rise overnight in warm place. In the morning knead lightly and shape into 2 loaves. Let rise until double in bulk and bake in 425 F. oven for 10 minutes and at 375 F. for 40 minutes.
