| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1/2 pound tomatoes | 1/2 pound tomatillos, peeled | 1/2 cup arbols |
| 1 medium onion, chopped | 2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed | 2 cups water |

| 1 | Preheat broiler. Place tomatoes and tomatillos on baking tray and broil, turning frequently, until evenly charred. Transfer to saucepan with remaining ingredients. |
| 2 | Bring to boil, reduce to simmer, and cook about 20 minutes. Transfer to food processor or blender and puree. Strain, if desired, and serve chilled with grilled beef, lamb, or pork. |
