| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 2 cups sifted all-purpise flour | 1/4 cup sugar | 4 teaspoons baking powder |
| 3/4 teaspoon salt | 1 cup milk | 1/3 cup butter, melted |
| 1 egg, slightly beaten | 1/2 cup finely chopped unpeeled apple | 3/4 cup (3 ounces) shredded aged cheddar cheese |
| 2/3 cup crisp bacon crumbles (about 8 slices) | ||
| 1 | In large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In small bowl, combine milk, butter and egg; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in apple, cheese and bacon crumbles. Spoon into buttered muffin cups, filling 2/3 full. Bake in preheated 400 F oven 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan. Cool on wire rack. |
