Fresh Tomato Basil Sauce over Pasta

INGREDIENTS:
8oz. any variety pasta 2 tablespoons olive oil or oil 2 garlic cloves, minced
2 lb. Italian plum tomatoes (about 14), coarsely chopped 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil or 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper



1 Cook pasta to desired doneness as directed on package.
2 Meanwhile, heat oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat until hot. Add garlic; cook 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cook over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until tomatoes are tender and sauce begins to thicken.
3 Drain pasta. Serve sauce over pasta. If a smoother sauce is desired, process half of sauce at a time in food processor or blender until smooth.
